Unknown drones as an attempt to draw Minsk into war - 1

On August 9, 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus accused Ukraine of violating Belarusian airspace by a group of drones. In response to this incident, Minsk not only started consultations with its allies, but also took measures to strengthen its defenses by moving military equipment to the borders with Ukraine. However, these steps raise serious questions and suspicions about the true intentions of Belarus, especially in the context of its role in Russian aggression, writes polskienowiny.pl.

Thus, on August 10, 2024, the Minister of Defense of Belarus Viktor Khrenin announced the transfer of missile systems “Polonese“ and “Iskander“ in the directions of Gomel and Mozyr, located near the Ukrainian border. The move was announced in response to alleged violations of Belarusian airspace by Ukrainian drones in August. Such a movement of military equipment significantly increases the risk of further escalation and aggravation of the situation along the border with Ukraine, which raises serious concerns about Minsk's intentions and its potential involvement in the aggression initiated by Russia against Ukraine.

It is worth noting that in the past, when Russian drones repeatedly crossed the Belarusian-Ukrainian border, Minsk preferred to remain silent. The lack of response to Russia's actions and the sharp condemnation of Ukraine highlight the double standards in Belarusian politics and its dependence on Moscow.

Statements of “incitement“ from external forces and “self-defense threats” on the part of Belarus can be seen as preparation of the information field for involving the country in a war on the side of Russia. Minsk, which has previously declared its desire for peace, with its actions and rhetoric supports Moscow's aggressive intentions, which calls into question its declared neutrality.

Furthermore, the Belarusian Foreign Ministry appealed to the peoples of Europe with a warning of a possible expansion of the war and a threat of the transfer of hostilities to the territory of the EU. This statement is clearly aimed at creating an atmosphere of fear and destabilization among Western politicians and the public. Such moves are intended to intimidate European countries, sow panic and divide the European Union, weakening its willingness to support Ukraine. These actions are part of a wider Russian strategy aimed at undermining the solidarity of European countries, discrediting their policy towards Ukraine and diverting attention from its own aggressive actions and the war that Moscow is waging on Ukrainian territory.

Thus, Belarus practically becomes an instrument in the hands of Russia, actively supporting its aggression and destabilization in the region. Minsk's declared desire for peace and neutrality does not stand up to criticism in light of actions that lead to further deterioration of the situation and threaten European security.
