Thailand's King Maha Vajiralongkorn today approved the appointment of Paetongtarn Shinawatra as prime minister.
This happened two days after the parliament elected her, paving the way for the formation of a cabinet in the coming weeks, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The king's approval, which was a formality, was read out by House of Representatives Secretary Apat Suhanand at a ceremony in Bangkok.
