The European Union has openly expressed disappointment after Mongolia's decision not to arrest Russian President Vladimir Putin during his recent visit to Ulaanbaatar. According to a report by France Press, this case highlights a significant moment of international tension, reports BTA.
An EU spokesperson noted that Mongolia, as a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC), had not fulfilled its obligations. Expectations were that the country would take action on an arrest warrant issued by the ICC against Putin, but in the end no measures were taken.
Despite international calls for the arrest of the Russian leader, Putin's visit to Mongolia passed without any action by the Mongolian authorities.
