UK Royal Navy officer dies after helicopter crashes in English Channel during a night training flight, Press Association/DPA reported, writes BTA.
There were three people on board the helicopter, two of whom were rescued and taken to hospital, the British Ministry of Defense announced.
The helicopter "Merlin" crashed off the coast of Dorset last night during a training flight from the aircraft carrier Queen Elizabeth, the Royal Navy said.
The cause of the accident is currently being investigated.
The family of the deceased, whose identity has not been released, has been notified.
"I am deeply saddened to hear of the tragic death of a member of the Royal Navy. My thoughts are with the family and loved ones at this painful time," he wrote in a post on "X".
