Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine's victory plan depends on quick decisions made by allies this year. He made this statement during a joint press conference with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, who is visiting Kyiv. The press conference is broadcast live on the EC website, BTA reported.
Zelensky said Ukraine plans to use the proposed multibillion-dollar EU loan for air defense, energy and domestic weapons purchases.
Earlier on the social network, Ex von der Leyen announced that the EC will provide Ukraine with a new loan of up to 35 billion euros ($39 billion).
"Relentless Russian attacks mean that Ukraine needs continued support from the EU," von der Leyen wrote in the publication in Aix. "This is another great contribution of the EU to the reconstruction of Ukraine,", she added.
Russia rejected the "victory plan" of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky as an attempt to keep the West on his side and said it had nothing to do with seeking diplomatic or political solutions to the conflict, Reuters reported. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told reporters that the plan appeared to be a self-serving move by the Ukrainian leader, whom Moscow accuses of trying to draw the West into a full-scale war against Russia.
