The Armed Forces of Ukraine are losing their American Abrams tanks at a significant rate, writes Military Watch Magazine, quoted by Focus.
"The latest images show that the rate of loss of Abrams tanks by Ukrainian troops has increased significantly," the material says.
It is noted that more than 20 of the 31 tanks delivered to Ukraine have been destroyed, disabled or captured. In interviews with Western media, Ukrainian servicemen express their dissatisfaction with the characteristics of this model, citing both technical problems, including the low resistance of electronic components to condensation, and their vulnerability to Russian weapons, the author of the article adds.
"The sheer size of the vehicles reportedly makes them particularly attractive for shooting, and their larger profiles compared to Soviet tanks such as the T-80 and T-64 make them easier targets," the publication sums up. .
Earlier on Thursday, the Ministry of Defense reported that during the fighting for the village of Memrik in the Donetsk region, Russian soldiers destroyed an American Abrams tank and other Western equipment.
