"We hope that by the end of the Hungarian presidency of the Council of the EU, each of the countries applying to join the Community will make progress,", Hungarian European Affairs Minister János Boca said before the start of today's meeting of the EU Council on general issues in Brussels, quoted by BTA.
He noted that representatives of Albania, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia were invited to the meeting. “We will talk with them, not about them,” said Boca. According to him, the ministers and guests will discuss issues related to the rule of law.
The work program of the European Commission envisages that the new reports on the progress of the countries that are candidates for joining the EU will be presented on October 16. The documents are expected to include assessments for Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, the Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Turkey, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia.
