Three civilians, including a child, were killed in Ukrainian shelling on a village in Russia's border Belgorod region, Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov announced. reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.

The Belgorod region is often subject to cross-border shelling and drone attacks during the course of the war. It borders Kursk Oblast, where Ukrainian forces last month crossed Russia's western border in an incursion that Moscow's forces are still struggling to repel.

Meanwhile, a Russian missile strike on the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporozhye today injured at least two people, after attacks on the city late yesterday wounded 21 people, regional authorities said, Reuters reported.

One of the two Russian strikes on Monday evening hit an unidentified object, and the other fell in an open area, regional governor Ivan Fedorov announced on the Telegram application. The Air Force of Ukraine had issued a missile threat warning in the southern regions.

Late on Sunday, Russia carried out at least seven airstrikes that injured 21 people and damaged 13 residential buildings, schools, cars and garages, Fedorov said, adding that Russia may have used guided aerial bombs.< /p>

Ukraine's Ministry of Energy said in Telegram that due to yesterday's airstrikes, electricity was cut off to more than 16,000 consumers in the region, but it was later restored.
