Warships of the Russian Pacific Fleet and the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy entered the waters of the Sea of Okhotsk in the western Pacific Ocean as part of joint naval exercises, Reuters reported, citing the Russian news agency Interfax.

"During the sea transition, the detachment performed tasks of conducting joint maneuvers, countering unmanned surface vehicles of a suspected enemy, conducting reconnaissance and monitoring the situation on the surface with the participation of helipads," Interfax reported, citing the press service of The Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy.

On Saturday, Russia said it was launching the joint Russian-Chinese naval exercise Beibu/Interaction 2024, which will include the use of anti-aircraft and anti-submarine warfare weapons.

Russian large anti-submarine ships (variety of the main category of squadron destroyers, note ed.) "Admiral Panteleev“ and "Admiral Tributs", as well as the corvettes "MPK-82" and "MPK-107" are among the warships participating in the exercises, Interfax reported.
