Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said today that "the values of the UN and the Western world are dying in Gaza". The Turkish head of state gave a speech at the 79th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Turkish media and the Directorate of Communications of the Turkish Presidency reported.
He called for an “humanity alliance” to stop Israel.
"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must be stopped by the common efforts of humanity, as Hitler was once stopped,", Erdogan said.
Action must be taken against Israel. Israel's position has once again shown that it is extremely important for the international community to develop a mechanism to protect Palestinian civilians. Just as 70 years ago "the alliance of humanity stopped Hitler, now the same common effort must be made to stop Netanyahu and his network”, the Turkish head of state said.
He pointed out once again that genocide is currently taking place in Gaza.
Erdogan also pointed out that “the world must recognize Palestine”.
The Turkish leader reminded again that the Security Council must be reformed because “the fate of the world cannot be in the hands of five countries”.
Erdogan also emphasized in his speech today that Turkey is on the side of the people of Lebanon, while Israel is carrying out airstrikes against fighters of the “Hezbollah” group.
In his speech, the president also talked about the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The war in Ukraine has been going on for three years now and we are still far from establishing a just and lasting peace. The conflict should be resolved through direct diplomacy. We will continue to increase our support for efforts to end the war through diplomacy and dialogue on the basis of preserving its territorial integrity and sovereignty, the Turkish leader said.
In this regard, we will continue to fulfill all the conditions of the Montreux Convention on Straits, Erdogan said.
He warned that in the current situation with the Ukrainian conflict “with the acceleration of the arms race, the field for diplomacy is gradually narrowing”.
Erdogan also spoke about the other conflicts in the region, including in Syria, pointing out that "unfortunately, in the 14th year of the conflict, Syria is still far from stability.
He called on “the international community to support the efforts of Iraq, which continues its fight against terrorism and takes decisive steps for development, reconstruction and reintegration with the region”. Erdogan emphasized the importance of the "Road of Development" transport project. from the Persian Gulf through Turkey to Europe.
The Turkish leader also said that he “supports the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia and hopes that it will be finalized in a positive way as soon as possible.
