At a meeting today with Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus, Russian President Vladimir Putin conveyed his best wishes to President Erdogan and said he expects him in the Russian city of Kazan on October 23. Putin announced that a bilateral meeting was planned between the two, in which the chairman of the Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, would also participate.
At the beginning of the month, it became clear that Turkey has submitted an official application to join the BRICS group, founded in 2006. from Brazil, Russia, India and China. BRICS expansion is expected to be discussed at the meeting in Kazan next month.

Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (Parliament) Numan Kurtulmus said at the meeting with Putin that Ankara has never supported sanctions against Russia and thinks it is wrong for Moscow to be punished in this way, TASS reports.
Kurtulmush noted that the two countries view the deep crisis in the Middle East in a similar way.
