Final results of the parliamentary elections in Austria: Freedom Party on top  - 1

In Austria, the final results of the parliamentary elections held on September 29. As expected, the changes in the results compared to the previously announced non-final results are minimal, cited by BTA.

The Austrian Freedom Party (FPÖ) won the election with 28.8 percent, marking an increase of 12.6 percent compared to the previous election. The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) came in second with 26.3 percent, a drop of 11.2 percent. The Austrian Social Democratic Party (SPÖ) maintains its result from the previous election in 2019 with 21.1 percent. The NEOS party gets 9.1 percent and the Greens 8.2 percent. None of the small parties managed to pass the four percent barrier.

In the parliament, the Freedom Party will be represented with 57 deputies (plus 26), the Austrian People's Party with 51 deputies (minus 20), the Austrian Social Democratic Party with 41 deputies (plus 1), NEOS with 18 deputies (plus 3) and The Greens with 16 deputies (minus 10).

The voter turnout was 77.68 percent, with 4,929,745 voters participating in the elections out of a total of 6,346,059 eligible voters. This is an increase compared to 2019, when the turnout was 75.59 percent.
