Russian armed forces have regained control over the villages of Novaya Sorochina and Pokrovsky in western Kursk region, which were earlier captured by the invaders in August Ukrainian military units, reported RIA Novosti, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Russian troops have been seeking to push Ukrainian forces out of the Kursk region since early August, when Kiev launched a surprise incursion across the border with Russia, according to Reuters.
The agency makes the stipulation that it cannot independently verify the claims of the parties to the conflict.
