President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Rome for talks after visiting London and Paris, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni welcomed Zelensky last night at the villa "Doria Pamphili".
As in London and Paris, part of the discussions with Meloni will reportedly include presenting his "win plan”.
Zelensky is also expected to have a private audience with Pope Francis in the Vatican tomorrow morning.
Relations between the Vatican and Zelensky are considered tense, DPA notes. The pontiff often mentions "martyred Ukraine” during public appearances, but has also attracted attention in the past with some controversial remarks about the war in Ukraine.
As part of his tour of European capitals, Zelensky is expected to visit Berlin on Friday, where talks are planned with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier about further support for Ukraine.
