Kremlin: Putin's order remains in force - 1

President Vladimir Putin's order to temporarily halt attacks by Russian forces on energy infrastructure in Ukraine remains in force, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, Reuters reported.

Putin agreed to the cessation of these attacks in a phone call with US President Donald Trump. Kiev, which said it would be ready to participate in such a partial ceasefire if a document setting out its conditions was agreed, accused Russia of not complying with Putin's order, which Moscow denies.

At the same time, Peskov added that "the Kiev regime's attacks on Russian energy infrastructure, including the bombing of a gas metering station in Sudzha, clearly demonstrate the value of the assurances of Vladimir Zelensky and his team," TASS reported. "By the way, this is something we have repeatedly warned our interlocutors about", the Kremlin spokesman said.

Peskov also spoke about Iran having the right to nuclear energy and acting in accordance with international law in this area. The Kremlin spokesman noted that Moscow accepted Iran's statements that it had no intention of acquiring nuclear weapons, Reuters reported.

Iran was one of the topics discussed in a long phone call between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin this week, after which the White House said the two leaders "shared the view that Iran should never be able to destroy Israel".
