Three law enforcement officers were killed in the Russian Republic of Ingushetia last night, TASS reported, quoted from BTA, referring to the regional press office of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The message says that around 10:00 p.m. (Bulgarian time) the car of the deputy head of the Center for Countering Extremism at the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Ingushetia, Adam Hamkhoev, was shot at near the highway. He and two other law enforcement officers, who were his relatives, died on the spot.

The attackers fled in the direction of North Ossetia. Their car was later found burnt out in the village of Maiskoye, in the neighboring Russian republic in the North Caucasus.

The situation in the region, where Islamists are active, is uneasy.
