Britain has frozen its annual security dialogue with Georgia and canceled other defense talks amid concerns about a retreat from democratic standards in the Caucasian country. This was announced by the ambassador of London in Tbilisi to Georgian media, quoted by Reuters.

"I expected us to work together to strengthen Georgia's resilience and our common well-being, but over the past year the Georgian government has chosen a different path," Ambassador Gareth Ward told the Interpress news agency.

The Georgian cabinet's actions prompted Britain to express "concern about the decline of democracy and anti-Western rhetoric," he added.
