The authorities in the Kurgan region have completed the compilation of a unified register of Roma living in the region. According to official data, there are about 800 representatives of the Roma community in the region.
This was announced by the vice-governor of the Kurgan region, Andrei Alekseev, during a meeting with the deputy head of the presidential administration, Magomedsalam Magomedov, and the plenipotentiary representative, Artyom Zhoga, URA.RU reports.
“The unified register is fully ready, including addresses by place of residence, number of inhabitants and profession“, Alekseev reported.
It is noted that the issue of the state of the Roma community in the region was discussed during a meeting of the advisory council on interethnic relations. The deputy head of the Kurgan region stressed that Governor Vadim Shumkov has instructed the regional department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs to continue monitoring the situation in order to prevent interfaith conflicts.
According to Alekseev, joint events with representatives of the Roma community are planned this year.
