Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met today in Kiev with the Minister of Defense of the United States Lloyd Austin, reported Ukrinform, quoted by BTA.
"I would like to thank Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin for the visit, the American people, President Biden, as well as the bipartisan support in the United States, for what was done during this war,” Zelensky said.< /p>
He noted that he was grateful for the recent NATO-Ukraine meeting in Brussels. "This was an opportunity to build a direct dialogue with the defense ministers of the allied countries. After that, a very powerful meeting took place at the level of defense ministers from the G-7," Zelensky said.
The President of Ukraine also thanked Joe Biden for the latest aid package. "Of course, in our telephone conversation we discussed many aspects of cooperation, especially regarding the Victory Plan, preparations for the winter period, our air defense capabilities. We also discussed in detail the aid packages, which will be very important for us in the winter”, said the President of Ukraine.
Zelensky said he discussed with Austin air defense and the topic of striking deep into Russia.
"In addition, we focused on efforts to increase the production of combat drones, cruise missiles, artillery shells and air defense systems,”, Zelensky wrote on the social network "X".

He added that the US defense secretary had shared with him plans to convene a new meeting in Ramstein after the one planned for October was postponed.
