Polish intelligence announced today that it arrested two men who are accused of espionage in favor of Belarus, reported France Presse, quoted by BTA.

According to the statement of the Polish Internal Security Agency, a citizen of Belarus, identified as Nikolay M., 53 years old, is accused of spying on Polish military sites and special services. He is also charged with collecting information on railway, airport and military transport infrastructure.

His accomplice, a Polish citizen identified as Bernard S., 59, is charged with aiding "foreign intelligence activities," according to the same source.

„Both suspects have admitted their guilt”, adds the source. Each of them faces a sentence of at least five years in prison.

Several people of various nationalities have been arrested or convicted in Poland in recent months for subversive and espionage activities for the benefit of Russian intelligence services.

Poland, which borders Ukraine and is a member of NATO and the European Union, is one of the main countries through which Western countries transfer weapons and ammunition intended for Kiev to help it fight against the Russian invasion, according to AFP.
