An Israeli military raid and airstrikes in the occupied West Bank resulted in the deaths of at least seven people on Tuesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health reported, quoted by Reuters and News.bg.
Five of the dead were killed in two separate Israeli attacks in and around the town of Qabatia, and two others died in the Tamun area, the ministry said.
The Israeli army confirmed that its planes struck a group of gunmen and its forces arrested 60 militants. Islamic Jihad's armed wing, al-Quds, said its fighters clashed with Israeli forces in both Qabatiya and the Tamun area.
Violence in the West Bank has increased significantly since the start of the Gaza war, with Israeli forces carrying out almost daily operations that include arrests and frequent firefights between security forces and Palestinian fighters.
