Trump may appoint Marco Rubio as Secretary of State - 1

The entourage of the newly elected Republican President Donald Trump expects him to appoint Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) for secretary of state during his administration, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing sources.

According to them, although Trump could still change his mind, this candidacy suited him perfectly.

53-year-old Marco Rubio has been a member of the Senate since 2011. According to US media reports, Trump considered him as his vice president, but ultimately settled on Senator James David Vance of Ohio. On the issue of Ukraine, Rubio advocates negotiations, according to him, this will bring an end to the conflict. In April, he was among 15 Republican senators who voted against $95 billion in military aid to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, but the package was eventually approved by both houses of Congress and signed by US President Joe Biden.
