The European Parliament will hold an extraordinary session on November 19 in Brussels to mark 1,000 days since the start of the Russian military attack on Ukraine, EP President Roberta Mezzola announced. She announced that during the meeting, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will address the MEPs, but will not be present at a place cited by BTA.
Mezzola emphasized that the European Union will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary. She added that the purpose of the meeting was to pay tribute to the courage and heroism of the Ukrainian people.
Last year, Zelensky addressed the MEPs from the rostrum in the plenary hall of the EP, and this year he again visited Brussels for meetings with the leadership of the institution. Mezzola was the first head of an EU institution to visit Kyiv just a month after the Russian invasion began in 2022.
