During the World Economic Forum in Davos, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with his Finnish counterpart Alexander Stubb. The topics included measures to strengthen Ukraine's defense, security guarantees and sanctions against Russia, BTA reports.
Zelensky expressed gratitude to Finland for its consistent support.
„Thank you for the new package of sanctions against Russia's shadowy fleet, for your numerous concrete steps and support for our people,“ the Ukrainian president said, quoted by his office.
Military aid and sanctions against Russia
The main focus of the talks was on the future strengthening of sanctions against Russia. The presidents discussed the 27th aid package that Finland is preparing for Ukraine, as well as the country's current military needs. Finnish President Alexander Stubb reaffirmed his commitment to Ukraine:
“We will continue to support your independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity. We admire your efforts,“ Stubb emphasized.
Defense industry cooperation
The discussions also included strengthening bilateral cooperation between Finland and Ukraine in the field of the military industry. Special emphasis was placed on investments in Ukrainian production of drones developed using Danish technology.
In addition, Zelensky and Stubb agreed on a schedule for future meetings, specifying their priorities for upcoming joint projects.

Ukrinform reports that within the framework of the forum, the Ukrainian president also held a conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The main topic of their discussion was again additional assistance to Ukraine.
