Russian forces are actively conducting assault operations in the southeastern outskirts of the city and sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRG) are trying to infiltrate, posing as civilians. The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are conducting counter-sabotage measures, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported, quoted by Ukrinform and BTA.
The General Staff stressed on Facebook that in the area of responsibility of the Khortitsa Operational-Strategic Group of Forces, the Kurakhovo direction remains one of the hottest sectors on the Russian-Ukrainian front. Ukrainian forces continue to repel Russian attacks despite the enemy's significant advantage in personnel, equipment, artillery and air support.
"Since the beginning of the day, 10 combat clashes have taken place in the Kurakhovo area," the statement noted.
In an effort to capture Kurakhovo, Russian forces are focusing on a major road junction and a residential area in the southern part of the city. In order to seize key administrative and industrial facilities in the central part of the city, Russian forces are trying to infiltrate with their DRGs. There have been incidents where these groups disguised themselves as civilians to conduct operations.
At the same time, TASS reported that Russian troops have occupied the residential part of Kurakhovo and have approached the industrial zone. The information was received from Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the Russian Public Chamber's commission dealing with issues of sovereignty, patriotic projects and support for veterans.
