The final agreements to settle the conflict in Ukraine must also take into account the interests of Belarus. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Yuriy Ambrazevych, quoted by the BelTA agency.
He stressed Belarus' interest in a peaceful resolution of the conflict in Ukraine, since the situation on its southern borders is very tense.
"Against this background, the accusations against Belarus of aiding and abetting aggression seem absurd. As a neighbor of Ukraine, Belarus is more interested than anyone else in a quick peaceful resolution of this conflict," Ambrazevych assured.
"No country wants armed action on its borders. That is why Belarus has been taking peaceful initiatives from the very beginning to prevent the escalation of the conflict," he noted.
"That is why we have stated from the very beginning that we are claiming a place at the table for peace talks in Ukraine when they begin. It is important for us to receive guarantees for our own security. The final agreements must take into account, among other things, the interests of the Belarusian side," the deputy minister insisted.
