At least 15 people were injured in a massive Russian drone attack on the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv, Kiev reported, quoted by DPA and BTA.
Eight people were injured in the city itself and another seven in the village of Zolochiv, the head of the regional military administration Oleg Sinegubov reported on Telegram. The number of injured may increase. Among them are at least two small children.
Several multi-storey buildings were hit, and according to reports, a civilian infrastructure facility was also damaged.
In addition to Kharkiv, the city of Dnipro in Central Ukraine was also targeted by drone strikes, regional governor Serhiy Lysak reported on Telegram. Photos posted online show flames and smoke over the city, Reuters notes.
There are no reports of casualties or injuries in Dnipro so far.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky also commented on the shelling. He posted a video of an explosion near a football field where children were playing.
Ukraine is subjected to major attacks by strike drones every day, most of which are "Shaheeds" and Iran is the one who taught Russia to produce them, he emphasized in a post on Telegram.
Zelensky added that the American proposal for an unconditional ceasefire has been on the table for six months, but "without pressure on Russia, it will not work".
On March 11, Kiev agreed to accept a plan for a 30-day ceasefire launched by the United States, if Moscow also agrees. But Russian President Vladimir Putin has set several preconditions, including a demand that the West stop providing all military aid to Kiev.
Zelensky accused Moscow of dragging out negotiations to prolong the war and called on allies to apply more pressure.
Ukraine has been fighting a full-scale Russian invasion for more than three years.
