Iran has officially responded to the letter sent by US President Donald Trump to Iranian leaders in early March. This was announced by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, quoted by Agence France-Presse, BTA reports.
Araghchi explained that the response was sent in writing and contains a detailed explanation of Iran's position on the current situation, as well as on Trump's letter. The minister did not specify the exact date of sending the official response.
The letter was delivered to Oman, which traditionally plays the role of mediator between Iran and the US, as the two countries do not have diplomatic relations.
In his letter to Iranian leaders, Donald Trump stated that he is open to dialogue with Tehran on the Iranian nuclear program, Agence France-Presse recalls.
