Among the core values of Russia and the Russian people, Head of State Vladimir Putin highlighted unity, devotion to truth, mercy, a strong family, love for children, the pursuit of success and patriotism, News.bg reports.

Putin made this statement during a Security Council meeting, TASS reported.

According to the president, it is these values that serve as a support in human life, form cultural identity and build a sovereign worldview.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov specified during a briefing that the main topic of the meeting was the improvement of state policy in the field of protecting traditional spiritual and moral values.

It is recalled that that at the previous Security Council meeting, held on May 30, the president discussed health-related issues with the participants. The topic then included ensuring Russia's sovereignty and security in the context of access to medicines.

Meetings of the Russian Security Council are traditionally held behind closed doors, with Vladimir Putin usually making brief public statements outlining the main topics on the agenda.
