The Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a warning to Greek citizens in Israel in connection with Israel's air strikes against Iran this morning, Sky TV reported, BTA reports.
„The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, taking into account the state of emergency declared in Israel, recommends that Greek citizens in the country stay in a safe place, near a bomb shelter, and follow the instructions of local authorities. Israel's airspace is closed and there are currently no flights to and from Ben Gurion Airport, the official statement said.
The Greek Foreign Ministry has also activated its crisis management unit.
The Israeli operation last night was aimed at Iranian nuclear sites. Among the targets hit were areas in the capital Tehran. According to Iranian sources, the Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, and Major General Hossein Salami - commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) - were killed in the attacks.
