The demonstration was peaceful, security forces did not intervene or disperse the crowd.
The protesters also did not show aggression.
In the city of Philadelphia, participants chanted: “This is what democracy looks like“ and “Trump, get out“.
Many protesters held American flags or homemade posters with slogans comparing the situation in the United States to Nazi Germany and the president to the “Antichrist“.
Local police later reported that about 80,000 people participated in the protest.
The protest was peaceful and, according to organizers, should be the largest in the country.
