The checkpoints of the protests are very important, it should be more difficult to do something stupid like this. The organizers of the protest should also provide security. Citizens can also resist - 400 people cannot ruin a protest of 100 thousand. At one point, this crowd can easily deal with the provocateurs. This was said by the political scientist from "Gallup International Balkan" Prof. Rosen Stoyanov on the air of "Hello, Bulgaria".
According to him, someone has an interest in taking tough measures and changing the constitutional order through a soft dictatorship. "There is a large mass of voters for GERB, ITN and BSP. Those who were elevated by them to govern are making last-ditch attempts to defend their right to power, delegated after the elections. The instinct of someone who has shown that in such situations he manages to come out of the water dry is strong. The question is whether to resign immediately, or to wait to see if the wave of protests will turn into a tsunami. The personalization of the protest provocateurs was very obvious because of their way of dressing, typical of such events," Stoyanov pointed out.
OFFNews Editor-in-Chief Vladimir Yonchev did not allow the option of early elections in the spring or summer.
"The main theme of the protest is the arrogance that the authorities demonstrate. The retreat from the budget is a bit of a letdown. However, their subsequent statements are again in an arrogant style. It is clear that Peevski has decided to put up a serious fight, so the government will not resign. We have seen that good things do not work. Children differ from us in one thing - they do not want to wait, they do not have time. However, this will not happen without a fight. The protest is made up of very diverse groups. It is entirely possible that one of them includes radicalized people, including authentic anger. In the case of December 1, however, agitators were brought in, guarded by the police. It is not ruled out that the protest will give birth to a new leader, but it may also be directed at a specific party," commented Yonchev.
According to him, the main clash is between naivety and inexperience versus well-measured arrogance. "There will be constant talk of a counter-protest, as well as people left without bread and water because of the new budget, as well as locales that have shown vandalism. All this will generate even more anger. There were many posters that said "Nepal". This is the scenario that the youth are ready for," he added.
