Deputy Andrey Chorbanov is leaving the parliamentary group of "There is such a people" (ITN). His application was submitted today to the registry of the National Assembly, BNR reported, citing information from the parliamentary press center.
Prof. Andrey Chorbanov, who is a well-known Bulgarian immunologist, is a member of parliament for the sixth time. Within the framework of his political career, he also held the post of Deputy Chairman of the 49th National Assembly.
At the moment, the reasons for the professor's decision to leave the party group led by Slavi Trifonov remain unknown. The national radio reached out to Andrey Chorbanov for comment, but he did not return phone calls.
It is expected that more details will become clear later in the day regarding the reasons for his departure and whether he will remain in parliament as an independent member of parliament.
