The case of the triple murder in the "Petrohan" hut is extremely interesting from a criminal point of view, but it will not be easy to unravel. This was stated by the legendary criminalist and former head of the "Homicide" department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs Botyo Botev. According to him, the situation around the hut reveals gross violations of the law and a complete lack of police control over the territory.

"The fact that a non-governmental organization is allowed to control the perimeter around the hut with drones and weapons is a gross violation. Where was the role of the police? Even if they did not receive signals, then the Ministry of Interior was asleep," commented Botyo Botev, quoted by "Dnes.bg".

The investigation, which began after the discovery of the three bodies on February 2, 2026, is wandering between multiple versions - from ritual suicide and sectarian practices to a pedophile network and migrant trafficking. The victims Decho V., 45 years old, Ivaylo I., 49 years old, and Plamen St., 51 years old, were found shot in the heads near the burned-out building.

Botyo Botev categorically rejected the possibility of collective suicide. "How do you see three people committing suicide? This is impossible. There are some pretty dark things that will come to pass here," he emphasized. According to the criminalist, the case must be solved, despite the scarce information so far.

Local residents claim that the people from the hut carried out unregulated ID checks and restricted access to the area for tourists and herb pickers. However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs officially denies having received such signals.

The organization that managed the site - – "National Agency for Control of Protected Areas" (NAKZT), had an arsenal of legal weapons and modern drones with thermal imaging cameras. These technologies allowed for control of a huge perimeter of 700 square kilometers.

On February 4, 2026, a man close to the victims was detained in the village of Gintsi and taken for questioning in Sofia. Other individuals are still being sought, including the owner of the hut, Ivaylo Kalushev. Autopsy results are expected to shed more light on whether the victims were in a state of addiction before the fatal shootings.
