The parliament will discuss health reforms, control over crypto assets and modernization of the defense. The weekly program of the MPs includes changes to the Health Act, international agreements for the exchange of information on crypto assets and the ratification of contracts for the modernization of the Navy.
The MPs will discuss five bills for amendments and supplements to the Health Act at first reading, after the Health Committee considered the proposals on January 22.
Two of the projects were supported - the bill by Lachezar Ivanov, which provides for restrictions on the sale and distribution of laughing gas, including stricter sanctions and an explicit ban on access by minors. Vasil Pandov's bill, which proposes the creation of a national preventive calendar, guaranteed financing of health programs and the introduction of requirements for the quality of hospital food.
The parliament will also consider a bill to ratify multilateral agreements for the automatic exchange of information on crypto-assets and financial accounts, prepared under the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. With the ratification, Bulgaria will introduce a new global standard for tax transparency in crypto-assets, including electronic money and digital wallets. The National Revenue Agency will automatically receive information about crypto-assets owned by Bulgarian individuals and legal entities and the income related to them abroad. The first real exchange of data is expected to be carried out in 2027.
The agenda for Wednesday also includes a bill to ratify two international treaties with the United States under the program for the acquisition of a mobile missile system for the coast guard and the implementation of a multifunctional tactical radio system. The project is part of the long-term modernization of the naval forces and aims to strengthen Bulgaria's defense capabilities in the Black Sea, as well as increase interoperability within NATO. Due to financial commitments and the application of American legislation, the contracts are subject to mandatory ratification by the National Assembly.
