"There are many parallels between Radev's victory and the situation in 1997. Then there were two alternatives - the BSP and the UDF. Now the protests were not what they were then. In 1997 it was clear that if one party loses, the other wins. Now the situation is different - there are many more parties and Rumen Radev's “Progressive Bulgaria” surprised many people”, said historian Prof. Iskra Baeva in the program "Offensive with Lyubo Ognyanov” on NOVA NEWS.

According to her, business is currently inside politics. "I am afraid that business plays a much bigger role than before. Now they are merged, but this is not only a Bulgarian phenomenon", she said regarding the influence of business circles in other governments with a full majority - the cabinets of Ivan Kostov and Zhan Videnov.

"Radev's voters are so many and they are in different directions. This can create many problems for governance. Now the situation is much more diverse. The current majority was gathered by the indignation of the people", said Prof. Baeva.
