I wish success to Mr. Glavchev, he is a very responsible and dialogic person. I hope that he will be able to prepare the elections and lead the country at this time. This was stated in the morning block of NOVA by the former mayor of Sofia, Yordanka Fandakova.

According to her, it is not right for the political opponents of GERB and in particular PP-DB to attack Dimitar Glavchev from now on, accusing him of being a party figure. Fandakova noted that President Radev did not have a very wide choice anyway, and with his decision to accept the post of interim prime minister, Glavchev prevented the country from falling into chaos.

The former mayor of the capital also said that surely Dimitar Glavchev will make the decisions in the office, and not Boyko Borisov, since he has assumed this responsibility. However, he clarified that there is nothing wrong if Glavchev decides to seek a dialogue with the leader of GERB.

According to her, it is also his decision whether he will invite persons from GERB to the office, not forgetting to assure that everyone in the party is proven experts in their fields.

When asked if we are witnessing a convergence of the positions of President Rumen Radev and the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov, Fandakova clarified that it is not a question of convergence of positions, but rather that the two are forced to work together given the complex situation not only in us, but also around the world.

„Borisov is responsible enough in this situation to show his statesmanship and work with everyone,” Yordanka Fandakova added.

In conclusion, she wished that the mayoral elections in Sofia would not be canceled due to the appeal filed in court by Vanya Grigorova, with which she disputed the election results in the capital.

But violations in local elections definitely raise doubts, which makes people not go out to vote, and this is a big problem for our democracy, Fandakova also said.
