Schengen is first and foremost a great victory for Bulgaria. Of course, it would not have happened without the joint efforts of ministers in government and teamwork was very important. When people work together, that's how trust is born, and Schengen is above all trust. This was stated to journalists by the resigned Prime Minister Academician Nikolay Denkov after the end of the solemn ceremony on the occasion of Bulgaria's entry into the Schengen area by air and water at Sofia Airport, reported novini.bg

In this aspect, Denkov also acknowledged the well-done work of the parliament, adopting the necessary laws for this purpose.

For Bulgaria's entry into Schengen by land, the prime minister pointed out that a “politically appropriate moment is being sought after the European elections and perhaps after the Austrian elections. However, he pointed out that the final decision on this matter will depend both on the development of the political situation in our country and on the extent to which far-right parties in Europe will gain the upper hand.

I barely know Mr. Glavchev, but he has the authority of a person who is serious and objective. I was just surprised by the attempts to say it had nothing to do with GERD, which is ridiculous. I hope that he will form a cabinet that will not raise doubts, because there is no way to hold fair elections with people who are not trusted, Academician Denkov said when asked about the future acting prime minister of the country.

„If Kalin Stoyanov remains interior minister, it would cast a serious shadow on the fairness of the elections, and I have reasons to say so,” added the resigned prime minister.

„Last week, I asked deputy ministers to make a report on the extent to which there was a fight against vote buying. The answer from one of the offices was that it was as if there had been no election, ie. nothing has been attempted to combat vote buying. "Here is an objective indicator," Academician Denkov revealed to the media.

He expressed the hope that the Minister of e-Government will not be part of the official government of Dimitar Glavchev.

Nikolai Denkov assured that he will do everything that depends on him so that Bulgaria can continue on the path of reforms and enjoy the trust of international partners.

I am sorry that we have not been able to implement the plan for these 18 months. I was ready to work with Prime Minister Maria Gabriel, but unfortunately other people blocked this process.

The resigned Prime Minister indicated that after the elections, it will be clear where Bulgaria will continue to develop.
