The new recalculated pensions come into effect today. The National Insurance Institute recalculated the pensions of about 350,000 pensioners who acquired social security experience after their retirement or after the last recalculation of their pensions. They will be on people's accounts as early as this month, BNT specified.
The recalculation will cover working pensioners receiving occupational pensions. They must have acquired insurance experience in the previous year 2023 and have not submitted an application for recalculation by the date of the current official recalculation.
The measure began as an emergency during the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020 and became permanent a year later. Last year, the pensions of nearly 336,000 working pensioners were officially recalculated.
