Unknown persons insulted and desecrated the grave of the recently deceased Bulgarian patriarch and Metropolitan Neophyte of Sofia, reported by the Holy Synod on its website. Neophyte's eternal resting place is under the colonnade of the metropolitan temple "St. Sunday".
The cross was removed from the grave and part of it, as well as part of the marble surrounding the cleric's grave, were broken. The law enforcement authorities have been notified of the case and actions are being taken to find the perpetrators.
On April 21 in the temple of "St. Sunday" a Holy Requiem Liturgy and memorial service will be celebrated on the occasion of 40 days since the death of the Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte.
