33 years ago on October 13, 1991. the first democratic elections took place, which were 2 in 1 - local and parliamentary. There were many concerns, the result was wonderful. I am sure that the result will be very good even now. This was stated by Prof. Mihail Konstantinov on the air of BNT, quoted by novini.bg.
In his words, the increase in the remuneration of the members of the electoral commissions is "perfectly correct".
"In each sectional commission there are about 9 members who are elected by the political forces. They are competitive and must be controlled. If they cannot be controlled, how can we expect fair elections. If the political forces want the elections to be fair, they must choose appropriate members, tell them what to do," he added.
Elections are bought in the hamlets. They are not bought piece by piece, but the whole neighborhood. They make a point of voting for the party they are told. This link should be broken. This is the work of the Ministry of the Interior. When votes are not bought, the villages do not vote. We need to work with the neighborhoods so that they know that their vote counts. Usually, parties that have money buy votes, Prof. Konstantinov pointed out.
According to him, the highest percentage of bought votes is observed in local elections. "The European elections are about prestige. There is a bit more vote buying in parliamentary elections. The least number of votes are bought in presidential elections," the mathematician explained.
