The NSO introduces security measures for the reception of Easter and St. George's Day

Citizens will have access after 21:30 after checking through checkpoints organized at the northern and southern entrances of the temple-monument "St. Alexander Nevsky"

On May 4, Holy Saturday, the National Security Service (NSS) introduces security measures for the Holy Liturgy for the Resurrection of Christ in the Patriarchal Cathedral “St. Alexander Nevsky“ in the capital, reported dariknews.bg.

Citizens will have access after 21:30 after checking through checkpoints organized at the northern and southern entrances of the temple-monument.

From 9:00 p.m. on May 4 to 2:30 a.m. on May 5, a ban on the use of drones is introduced in an area with a radius of 1,000 m and centered on St. Alexander Nevsky Square.

On May 6 (Monday), the Day of Courage and the holiday of the Bulgarian Army, at 10:00 a.m. there will be a solemn water-lighting of the battle flags and the ensigns of the Bulgarian Army. Respect and gratitude to the memory of those who died for the freedom and independence of Bulgaria will be paid in front of the Monument to the Unknown Warrior in the capital.

Citizens who wish to attend will have access through checkpoints organized at “Rakovski“ and “Oborishte” street, at “Paris“ and “Shipka“ and at the southern side of the temple-monument “St. Alexander Nevsky“.

Citizens will be checked with metal detectors for the presence of firearms and cold weapons, sharp objects, explosives and flammable substances, sources of ionizing radiation, fireworks and other pyrotechnic articles. Citizens carrying bulky luggage will not be admitted to the event. Access to persons in a visibly inadequate condition will also be restricted.

From 09:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., a ban on the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) is introduced in an area with a radius of 1,000 m and centered on St. Alexander Nevsky Square, DANS adds.
