The Holy Fire from Jerusalem will arrive tonight in Rousse from Romania. This was reported to BTA by Bishop Makariy of Glavinitsa, vicar of Ruse Metropolitan Nahum.
"Since there will be no delegation of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in Jerusalem, we will use our proximity to the Romanian Church", His Eminence said.
He explained that the Romanian Church plans to take the Holy Fire from Jerusalem. Thus, priests from the Rousse Metropolis will travel to the city of Bucharest. There they will receive a particle of the Blessed Fire.
By tradition, the Rousse Metropolis takes the Holy Fire from the Romanian city of Giurgiu, and the reason for this is the proximity of these cities.
