In a few days, Bulgaria should have a nomination for a new representative in the European Commission. This was stated by our current European Commissioner Iliana Ivanova from Burgas.
The proposal to our country by President Ursula von der Leyen is that, if they are new candidates, they should be a man and a woman, if it is the current commissioner - it should be one person, reports BNT.
Ivanova did not comment on whether we would take on a new portfolio in the European Commission, nor did she wish to say whether negotiations have already been held with her to remain in the post.
"I cannot comment on any names. You know this is an important issue that I agree that there needs to be a national consensus and unity from everyone because it is important that the figure who represents us really gets broad support from the whole public. In the end, it is good for Bulgaria to have a nomination within the time limit set by the EC, and not to waste time, because in the end the portfolios are also starting to be discussed, so it is good that this happens in the coming days. said Iliana Ivanova.
