Rashkov: The new Minister of the Interior is the choice of GERB

The reason I had reservations about him, including in connection with his appointment as director of the National Police, was his participation in an action in Lyaskovets, where a commando died

This is the choice of GERB - this is how former interior minister and current PP-DB MP Boyko Rashkov commented on the election of Atanas Ilkov as acting interior minister.

When asked why Rashkov himself appointed Ilkov as deputy director of the National Police during his term in the Ministry of the Interior, he answered that it was not about trust, but about the possibility for Ilkov to fulfill the position, because he had the necessary experience.

"The reason I had reservations about him, including in connection with his appointment as director of the National Police, was his participation in an action in Lyaskovets, where a commando died. The mistakes of the police then became associated with his name. I do not think that a person who has caused such a great tragedy to a family is fit to be Home Secretary. Glavchev's statement - "who else, there is no other" is also disturbing. That is, there is no one else in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, except Atanas Ilkov, which is a pity".

According to Boyko Rashkov, the position of deputy director is "not such a big job", since Atanas Ilkov was the regional director of the police in several cities.

Rashkov has concerns about the election process and comments that the last minister - Kalin Stoyanov - also allowed the buying and selling of votes, which is contrary to the duties of the official cabinet to ensure fair elections.
