A 20-year-old man died last night in the brutal accident in Plovdiv, reports from BNT.
The incident was reported to 112 shortly after 10:00 p.m. The young man, who has only a year and a half experience behind the wheel, crashed. Due to the high speed at which he was driving, the car crashed into a pillar under the Komatevsky overpass and literally twisted around it. The car was crushed beyond recognition.
Heavy equipment from the fire department had to cut the car open to get the driver out. He traveled alone. He was taken to hospital in extremely serious condition. Despite the efforts of the doctors, he died an hour and a half later.
Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated in the case. There is currently no information on whether the driver used alcohol or drugs before the accident.
Severe accidents regularly occur in this section due to high speed. The traffic is one of the busiest in Plovdiv.
