On Saturday morning, the fire department in Stara Zagora was alerted to a fire in an apartment in the regional city, FOCUS reported.
A 78-year-old man died in the fire. According to the fire department, he inhaled gas and suffered burns to his face.
The cause of the fire was negligence when handling an open fire - a lit cigarette.
