Five protests in Sofia today

Police will ensure the peaceful conduct of the marches

For today, the Sofia Municipality has received five notifications for holding mass events, marches and protests.

The Lukovmarsh torchlight procession is scheduled for 5 p.m. Over the years, the procession, which is in memory of Hristo Lukov - a military minister during the Kingdom of Bulgaria and a supporter of Nazi Germany - has been stopped by the Sofia Municipality due to its far-right nature. This year it will take place because the court has overturned the ban of Mayor Vasil Terziev, BNR reminds.

At 10:30, opponents of the Lukovmarsh will gather in the garden in front of Sofia University for the usual counter-march under the slogan "No Nazis on our streets".

A protest by the "Vazrazhdane" party is planned for 12 p.m. against the introduction of the euro before the Bulgarian National Bank.
