The Serbs demanded their country back in a very convincing and emotionally gripping way. This was commented by former Minister for European Affairs and diplomat Gergana Passi in the studio of “Wake Up”.
“We saw what happens when, as if, people lose their sense of fear. The collapse of a visor actually, step by step, unleashed a long-held dissatisfaction reaching anger. This happened in a touching way. Because I watched how the Serbs initially just suffered, cried”, explained Passy.
“Let's say that this visor was built, as far as I remember, with public funds. I think it was opened several times. And at one point, months after the ribbons were cut, it collapses on the heads of 15 people who die on the spot. And step by step, the Serbs really did what we saw yesterday as a culmination. And without separating”, she added.
According to her, President Vučić is a very skillful manager. “For decades, he has been a man of power, managing in a now very modern, unfortunately, way to offer a deal to everyone”, the diplomat explained.
Regarding the meeting of leaders from the “coalition of the willing”, she commented as follows:
“I want to use this opportunity to support Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov. I believe that this is exactly the Prime Minister that Bulgaria needs at this moment. I believe that he is doing the right thing, declaring in a very difficult environment unequivocal support for Ukraine. Because in fact, this is support for Europe. And what we have seen, including from the sociological surveys last week, is that there is a record number of Bulgarians who support Europe and support Bulgaria having a clear position in favor of Ukraine. 61% is the approval for the European Union. Bulgarians see Europe as the family that can provide them with security and guarantee them freedom”.
