The Telish-Radomirtsi section, which is part of the Lukovit-Pleven road, really needs repair. This was stated in the “Interview in NOVA News” by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov.
"The question is why this repair has not been done so far? This question should be addressed to the penultimate caretaker minister - Ivan Shishkov. The repair should have been done a long time ago, but no contractor was selected. But this is not a reason for justification", he emphasized he.
Ivanov was categorical that he is 100 percent ready to start the major repairs of the Telish - Radomirtsi section. This will happen immediately after the investigative actions are completed and the prosecutor's office allows work to be done in the area. The major repairs of the Lukovit - Pleven road will begin immediately after the road between Botevgrad and Mezdra is made passable and Lot 1 of the "Hemus" motorway is launched.
The regional minister specified that at the moment the Botevgrad-Mezdra section is put into operation, the traffic that now passes by Telish will return to its natural route. "This section should be put into operation at the end of June", Ivanov emphasized.
And the entire Botevgrad - Vidin route, according to RIA data, is expected to be ready by 2029.
When asked if he would demand the resignation of the head of RIA, the minister replied: "I will demand accountability regarding all signals that come to RIA. They have been reporting their work for the two months that I have been there - I see that they are doing their job. The job of the RIA management is to follow this political will and this rhythm that I have set. And right now they are following it. The moment they disrupt this rhythm, the moment they do not do their job - everyone will be released. I guarantee that. "The inspection I have ordered, if it shows even the slightest hint of any omission, will remove this employee, regardless of his level."
